This last week has been, in a word, blech.
Between a small oven fire, playing the role of single parent for 3 nights straight to a baby and potty training toddler, and other things that would probably just gross you out...
Let's just say I'm glad its the weekend and am looking forward to getting a few projects done for my 3 year old's birthday party next weekend!
Speaking of birthday parties (or baby showers or any kind of party for that matter)...
What has happened to the RSVP?
I sent out birthday invites a few weeks ago and requested everyone RSVP by tomorrow. I have heard of a grand total of 4 people! And I can guarantee you that I won't hear from anyone else (unless they read this blog post) tomorrow. It seems the RSVP has gone by the way side.
Unfortunately its like this every year for our birthday parties, but I've also experienced it for other events I've helped throw for others. Do people no longer feel obligated to RSVP even if its requested? I do. Am I alone in that?
I'm curious what you think! Do you RSVP? If not, why not?
Maybe next year I'll request regrets only.
And if someone doesn't show up and never lets me know they weren't coming I'll send them a bill for their share of the food. ;)
On to some FUN things!

Last weekend's blogger meetup was fun and full of helpful information, as per usual!
Gina at The Shabby Creek Cottage did a great write up of our get together if you're so inclined to head over there and read it.
In case you missed it on my Facbook page, I shared some fun Halloween finds from a trip to Home Goods this last week. Be sure to check it out!
Whitney, the shop owner is super sweet and is helping make my son's train-themed party next weekend even more fun.
In looking around 58 & Grace (which is full of some seriously yummy vintage goodies), I noticed Whitney had recently sold some vintage train tickets. But she didn't appear to have any more in stock. I convo'd her to see if perhaps there might be more laying around and she promptly wrote me back that she dug around and found a few more for me! Yay!
Aren't they great! (And don't you love how Whitney wrapped them up?)
I can't wait to incorporate them into our train decor!
Okay, I really need to get back to party planning. Have a great weekend, y'all!
