Social Saturday – Facelifts & Random Bits

I decided I needed a facelift.
Actually I decided my blog needed a facelift! 😉
If you’re joining me in Reader or via email, I would love for you to hop over and see the changes I’ve made around here!
I’m finding it quite light and airy myself. I was beginning to feel a little bogged down with my previous set up. I’m loving the chevron and the more simplistic look. And hopefully things are a little easier to find!

Let me point out some fun things in the sidebar for you.

Feed Mail FaceBook Twitter Pinterest
Over there at the top you’ll find these
fun buttons so we can interact beyond the blog!

From left to right:
Subscribe via email to my RSS feed, send me an email, join me on Facebook,
follow me on Twitter, and stalk me on Pinterest!

I adore my new section headers. The chevron is SO fun!
(And a huge thank you to Sierra @ The Blue Robin Cottage for sharing where to find these great chevron backgrounds I’m using!!)

Join the Party will list all the fun goings on on the blog. Did you notice the Homemade Christmas button? Oh yeah, its back again this year! More info on that in a week or so. 😉

I am soooo excited about my new Blog Topics buttons!
How easy are these to read and so, so fun??
(A ginormous thank you to Linda @ Craftaholics Anonymous for the inspiration behind these buttons! They are modeled after the ones on her blog. LOVE them!)

I have new blog button! And I lurve it. 🙂
If you happen to have my blog button on your blog, 1) Thank you!! I’m flattered! and 2) My button automatically updated itself so no need to change to the new one!

So what do you think about the layout?
Anything else I should think about editing?
I want to know what you think!

(ps I made all of these changes myself. I’m no pro by any means, but I do love playing around with my drawing program and html.
And no, I’m not for hire. There are plenty of pros out there for that! 😉 )

Now for the random tidbits of the week…

First up, you can find me today at The Country Chic Cottage helping my friend Angie celebrate her Handmade Holidays! Come see the fun accessory gift idea I’m sharing!

We had our first hard frost this week, but not before I saved these lovelies.
*sigh* They smell so divine!

I am not a big fan of this time change. I would much prefer to go to work in the dark and come home in the daylight instead of vice versa. BUT, I am grateful for the light box I made last summer to help me still get great photos of my projects even on week nights. I have a full tutorial if you want/need to make one, too!
And my final share is a bit of a teaser…
I have an announcement on Monday that is making me a little nervous, but after some prompting from my friend Bev @ Flamingo Toes (thanks, Bev!) I think I’m going to go for it!
More on that in a couple of days. 😉
So, what’s new with you this weekend?
And, of course, I’m dying to hear what you think of my new look around here!

Love your new look on your blog! Do you share where you got the backgrounds? :) Also, I do agree that your headers are huge - they are at the bottom and each one is as wide as your blog lol I wonder if you are doing some tweeking at the moment ;)
