You may not have your email account set up with your blog account!
You see, most bloggers have their blog comments sent to them via email. Then they can respond to a comment directly back to you so long as your email account is set up.
If its not, then you are a dreaded noreply-comment@blogger.com! 🙂
In other words, a response email goes absolutely nowhere.A posted a tutorial waaaaaaay back in September of 2010 to show you how to add your email account to your Blogger account (sorry, I can’t help you if you have a blog other than Blogger!), but that was a long time ago, and it definitely begs repeating!

ps: @Kathy, now I'm questioning if my thank you's are annoying to my readers?! Great...what is the right way?? I agree with you, Michele, it creates conversation. For example, I have gone from commenting back to exchanging cell phone numbers and calling other bloggers...who live across the country from me and maybe we'll never meet in person. It creates RELATIONSHIPS (:

Hmmm. I would prefer the person stopped by my blog and commented if they felt like it. I don't need a bunch of thank yous in my email inbox. I try to visit blogs of commenters and may send an email if there is no other option.Kathy
