I love gardening!
I find it to be a therapeutic and rewarding hobby.
So why has the garden shown above been neglected for the last 4 years???
Thanks to the arrival of various babies and being pregnant during the summer, this poor garden has definitely been neglected. Today we changed that!!
I didn't think to take a complete before picture until I had already started weeding. It wasn't until I was part way into it that I realized what an undertaking and transformation that was going to occur this day!
Let me give you a little background about my garden:
The area we live in in middle Tennessee is full of rocks. Not like, "oh there's a rock over there and another over here," but more like "I have giant boulders in my backyard!" :)
You learn to live with it and design your yard around it.
In our side yard is a large flat rock. I decided the best thing to do would be do design a garden around it!
To make this garden extra special we gathered rocks from our family farmhouses, mine from east TN and the hub's from an hour south of us, to use to layout the new garden.
Needless to say, if we were to ever move these rocks would definitely be coming with us!
Too much family history and special meaning to be left behind!
There were actually some perennials that have kept coming back and managed to survive in the garden so they are the only thing that got to stay today.
1 trip to Lowe's, 4 bags of dirt, and 30 plants later...
I have new little oasis in my yard!
