Project Gallery

Hey guys!!
I've been working my booty off on a behind-the-scenes project for weeks now.

I'm hoping you might have already noticed it, but in case you haven't,
I have a new and improved PROJECT GALLERY

You can find the button for it about halfway down my sidebar and also in the horizontal button bar underneath my header.

So you might be thinking, "Didn't you already have something like this?"
Well, yes, as a matter of fact I did, but I felt like it was sloppy and now I've taken it to another level!

My hope was to make a Project Gallery that was
  • super simple for you to navigate and find what you're looking for
  • properly categorize each project (some fit more than one category & they are listed as such!)
  • let you know what project you are looking at before you even click over to it

In the main section of the Project Gallery you will find something that looks like the images above.

Each section is categorized with a few examples of what you'll find within them.
If you like the example, you can simply click over to go straight to the tutorial.

Don't see the project you're looking for? Click on see more of the appropriate category to do just that... see more!

I've also taken the time to overlay a title on each thumbnail image so you know exactly what project you're looking at.

It is my hope that if you are looking for a specific project you saw here at The Scrap Shoppe, you will be able to easily find it within the Project Gallery.

I also hope that you will simply peruse the gallery at your leisure for some crafty inspiration!

I have one more category I'm contemplating on adding.
It should be up in the next month if I decide to go with it.

I do have one question for YOU!

Right now I have all of my holidays listed on one page but separated by holiday/season in chronological order.

Should I make a separate page for each holiday?

I figure you only want to have to click through so many times
and you probably wouldn't like clicking forever to get to see some projects.

But I would love to hear what you have to say about it!

Also, I want to give a big shout out to my friend Gina for the inspiration to get my act together and make a proper Project Gallery for you guys. She made one back in June and its fabulous! Check her out!

I think it was super smart to put things in more than one category - I need to do that too!

  4. I like the way you have the holiday section. I think one button, and then a different section for each holiday once you "get there" is perfect.
