Style Meets Function

Elise-full
You know what I love? I love finding something for my house that looks so super fabulous that I’m just beside myself about it! But do you know what I love even more? When that something that looks so super fabulous is also SO super functional! Am I right?

I was recently asked by Sauder to select a piece of their furniture and style it in my home. I selected the stunning plum red Elise cabinet shown above. As for the styling, I went for a vintage eclectic look since that represents many of the items in my home.

Elise-closeup2The insides of the cabinet are super spacious. I’m really going to be able to store a lot of things in there!

I alternated between some of my treasured oldies and some random new items from around the house. I love that the shelves will hold up to 25-30 pounds. I may just fill them up with old books! Wouldn’t that look fabulous through the glass?

I love that the piece gives just a pop of color. The glass keeps the red from being too bright. And the inside back panel can be white or red (it’s reversible). I think the white makes what is inside pop just a bit more!

And how about the lines on this beauty? I just love the style of the glass doors! And totally still functional. Definitely my kind of furniture! I also love that I can still put my own spin on this modern furniture.

The best part about this styling project? Sauder knows not everyone has the same style. They have created an amazing Lookbook with several of their furniture products, all styled by different bloggers, so you can check out those different styles and see how the piece of furniture works in each one! I think that is pretty ingenious!

So you’re not into eclectically vintage? Check out these other styling ideas from other bloggers for the Elise cabinet!
