Cream Puffs are a great dessert to make for so many occasions.
I love making them for birthday parties, holidays and pretty much any special event!!
Here’s the recipe if you would like to make some:
Cream Puffs:

  • 10 ounces — 2.5 packages instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs

Directions:

  • Mix together vanilla instant pudding mix, cream and milk. Cover and refrigerate to set.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
batter
  •  In a large pot, bring water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball. Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon or stand mixer, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Centers should be dry.
    • ** Here’s the tip — when they are done baking, turn the oven off and open the oven door. Leave the pastries in the oven until they cool off, This keeps the centers from falling.

  • When the shells are cool, either split and fill them with the pudding mixture, or use a pastry bag to pipe the pudding into the shells.

  • Optional — melt a cup of dark chocolate chips in the microwave on power level 3 until they melt, then drizzle the chocolate over the top of the pastries.

** This recipe cuts out 1/3 of the fat and it’s still delicious.
