Hi there!! I’m Jen from Tatertots and Jello! I’m so excited to be here!! I just think Michele is so sweet and amazingly talented!!
I’m thrilled to be a part of Michele’s Christmas Party! I would love to share with you something I love to make — Homemade Cream Puffs!!
Cream Puffs are a great dessert to make for so many occasions.
I love making them for birthday parties, holidays and pretty much any special event!!
Here’s the recipe if you would like to make some:
Cream Puffs:
- 10 ounces — 2.5 packages instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 cups heavy cream
- 2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
Directions:
- Mix together vanilla instant pudding mix, cream and milk. Cover and refrigerate to set.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- In a large pot, bring water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball. Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon or stand mixer, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Centers should be dry.
- ** Here’s the tip — when they are done baking, turn the oven off and open the oven door. Leave the pastries in the oven until they cool off, This keeps the centers from falling.
-
When the shells are cool, either split and fill them with the pudding mixture, or use a pastry bag to pipe the pudding into the shells.
- Optional — melt a cup of dark chocolate chips in the microwave on power level 3 until they melt, then drizzle the chocolate over the top of the pastries.
