If you haven't yet discovered Poladroid, you.will.love.it. If you are already familiar, you know what I'm talking about!

Poladroid is a free program available from Polaroid. Its basically a "Polaroid" camera that works for your digital photos.

When the program is installed, you double click on the desktop icon to open it. A polaroid camera will appear with an undeveloped photo hanging out that says "drag & drop your picture here." And that's just what you do!

Once you drop your photo, a new "polaroid" will pop out of the camera. Don't worry if it looks odd, its undeveloped!! That's right, you get to watch your photo as it magically develops right on your desktop! You can even "grab" the photo with your mouse and shake it like you would a real Polaroid. It doesn't actually make your photo develop faster in this instance, its just part of the fun!

You can save your Polaroid at any point in its development by double-clicking your left mouse button or single clicking the right mouse button. When the photo has completely finished developing a red mark will appear on the photo. The final version of the photo is automatically saved (minus the red mark).

I've played around to show you some of my photos using the cutest subject possible. My son, Gavin!

Here are the original photos (click to see a larger version of any of the photo sets):

And here are the photos as they are "developed," the last photo in each set being the final Polaroid:

You can see that the program crops the photos, ages them, and darkens the edges. Too fun!

I decided to try it on a couple of old photos of my husband's grandparents that I had scanned into my computer:

The Poladroid websites states this is the beta version of this program (beta meaning early stages), so I can't wait to see if they have any improvements to make on it later. Its already way too much fun!

So what are you waiting for? Go download it and give it a try!
