Salted Caramel Iced Coffee

July 17, 2013 By: Michele McDonald31 Comments

Since I’m home more these days, I have a little more time to devote to my morning routine.
What does that mean? Well, for one thing I can play around with my morning beverage. Instead of putting a K-cup in the Keurig and taking off for work, I can play around with the coffee that comes out in my cup.

I have just such a “played around with” coffee recipe for you today.
Let’s see what you think about my salted caramel iced coffee recipe!

Salted caramel is one of my favorite flavors, and I wanted to try to incorporate it into my coffee for something a little different. A little sweet treat for the taste buds!

Iced coffee isn’t something I’ve attempted before but, I have to say, after creating this recipe I am definitely going to try it more often. It is delicious, and I don’t have to wait for my coffee to cool.
(I’m a total wimp and drink my coffee at just above room temperature.)

Here’s the easy peasy recipe. You probably have most of these items on hand already!

Yield: 1 serving

Salted Caramel Iced Coffee

Salted Caramel Iced Coffee

Start your day with a flavorful, custom coffee beverage!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of brewed coffee
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus small amount for garnish
  • 1/8 tsp kosher salt or sea salt, plus small amount for garnish
  • Ice cubes
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Creamer, half-and-half, or milk, to taste
  • Whipped cream, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/4 cup of caramel sauce into mug or cup.
  2. Add hot coffee. Stir to mix with caramel sauce.
  3. Add 1/8 tsp salt, ice cubes, sugar, and creamer. Mix well.
  4. Top with whipped cream, a drizzle caramel sauce, and a few sprinkles of salt all for garnish (optional).

This recipe is super simple. The longest step is brewing the coffee!
If you try it be sure and let me know. I’d love to hear what you think of it!

I love it! It WAS simple. I started out thinking of ice coffee but since it is a chilly Fall day, I decided to leave out the ice. It was a perfect hot salted caramel coffee! Thank you for sharing a great and delicious idea!
