More busy, busy moments here at Casa de McDonald this last week!
Although I love the socializing and getting out, this homebody is ready for some down time. 😉
WARNING: Picture heavy post to cover ALL that we have been up to!
We spent last weekend in Chattanooga celebrating my mom-in-laws birthday! It was a great opportunity to get all 4 of the grandbabies together again.
And it was my little family’s first vacation since baby #2 came around. And can I say we.had.a.blast. 🙂
My boys were awesome! I can definitely see us traveling again sooner rather than later.
We went down a day early to do some exploring and wound up at the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel. My little man is WILD about trains (and we’re having a train-themed birthday party is just a couple of weeks!). I wish this photo had turned out a little clearer, but needless to say, he had a fantastic time! Lots to see and do there.
We stumbled across this fire scene while in Chattanooga!
But its not what you think. 😉
The fire scene was part of this elaborate train setup at the Choo Choo hotel! This thing was absolutely amazing. The attention to detail was astounding! The entire setup was at 100 feet long if not more with multiple trains running at one time.
And leave it to me to find a scrapbook store while on vacation!
Don’t worry, I didn’t go overboard. Just a couple of new train papers and a fun little train luggage tag.
And my favorite photo while on vaca? The hubs and littlest man looking at a map on the phone. Doesn’t it look like littlest man is trying to study the map and help out? 🙂
Next up, this week our county fair is in town! Our particular fair is considered the largest in TN. There is definitely a lot to do and see!
Littlest man was a gem and loved looking at all of the lights and people milling about.
Little man got to ride his first fair rides this year!
He also rode his first solo rides. I wasn’t sure how he would do, but he loved it!!
And isn’t his little passenger adorable? She turned around to watch little man almost as much as she faced forward!
I took the opportunity to have the hubs take my photo with my boys. Aren’t they the cutest?
Our week has also been filled with these.
That, my friends, is toddler underwear. Oh yes, we are FINALLY venturing into the world of hard core potty training. We’ve been kind of fluffy with it thus far, waiting for the little man to feel ready. But I think its time we hit it hard.
We’ve done pretty well this week. Oh, we’ve had our accidents, but my method of attack seems to be going well. We’re going to continue it over the next few weeks then I’ll share it with you all!
And finally, today I am meeting up with middle TN bloggers to chat and learn more about blogging!
Okay, I’m off to get ready to go see my bloggy friends.
I hope you all have a great weekend ahead of you!

Love all of the photos and it looks like you have had some really fun times. My husband and son love trains too and I am going to show this to him. I know they will want to go when they see it :)
