Make Your Own Stamps!

I feel like I’ve been out of the scrapbooking loop.

Look at what I just discovered!

AND its been around since July!

stampmaker

The uber talented Teresa Collins has debuted her very own rubber stamp making apparatus named, appropriately, the Stampmaker. How cool is that?

The Stampmaker machince kit, shown above, comes complete with all of the things you need to make your own custom stamps. You simply use any image you have on your computer and the software that comes with the kit. She even includes a few images already in the kit.

Kit includes:

UV Lightbox

CD Rom with instructions, artwork modifying program for PC only, advice and some free artwork

Wash out brush, post exposure tray and stamp mount tape to mount stamps

Two A4 sheets of Ink Jet film for making your own negatives

Five small and five medium stamp pacs, two embossing pacs and two stencil pacs

Pre-made negatives: designs for stamps, embossing, stencils (4 for stamps, 2 for embossing and 2 for stencils)

It is retailing for ~$170 so its a bit pricey, but, depending on how you plan to use it, I could totally see me getting my money’s worth out of it!

Think Christmas gifts, sell custom stamps on Etsy, use on projects to sell on Etsy, custom logos, blog giveaways… I could go on!

I admit, I’ve looked into buying something like this before. But machines were hard to come by and it seemed like all the ones I was really interested in were 1.) overseas (hellooooo shipping fees!) and 2.) too expensive of an investment.

But the company that makes the Stampmaker, Photocentric, also makes another stamp making machine that is slighlty less expensive than the Teresa Collins version (probably because its not pink 😉 ).

So, what do you think?

Is this something you could see yourself using
or is it just another pricey toy?
