Anthro Inspired Mishale Bib Necklace using Duck Craft Tape

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand. All opinions are 100% mine.

Before I go into the details of this fun necklace, I have a seriously fabulous new product to share with you! Duck Brand® has recently introduced a new line of tapes called Duck Brand Craft Tapes. These include glitter, washi, fabric, and prism tapes. As you can see, I was given the opportunity to play with the Glitter Craft Tape. This is not your regular Duck Tape, my friends. It is thinner, but still durable, not crazy sticky, and the glitter does.not.flake.off. That last point is a real winner in my book. It is SO super sparkley and catches the light beautifully yet it doesn’t come off on your hands when you touch it! It is perfect for crafting!

I received the pink and aqua rolls of Glitter Craft Tape (silver and red are also available). Once I received them I knew almost immediately what I wanted to make. I had recently pinned a beautiful bib necklace from the Anthropologie website and just knew I could recreate something similar using the Glitter Craft Tape! Ready to see how I did it?

First, let’s take a quick look at the inspiration piece, the Mishale Bib Necklace. Isn’t it lovely? I love the contrasting color scheme. It really makes this look like a bold piece. And definitely something I can recreate with the bright pink and soft aqua colors of the tape.

In order to make workable pieces of tape, we need to take ~3-4″ pieces and attach them back to back. I used contrasting pieces of tape against one another. You’ll see why soon.

Trim the pieces of tape into the appropriate shapes for the necklace. Punch holes so that the pieces of tape can be connecting to one another. Attach the pieces with small jump rings. I used 2 jumps rings per connection. Attach chain and a necklace clasp and you’re all set!

I’m loving the color combo and the look of the metal against the glittery tape.

And now you can see why I backed each piece of tape with the contrasting color! The necklace is actually reversible. You can decide which you would like to be the dominating color!

Who knew that an Anthropologie inspired necklace could be created using Duck Brand® Tape? I see a lot of possibilities for this Glitter Craft Tape. I even already have another project in mind!

What would you make with Duck Brand® Glitter Craft Tape? I would love to hear, and I’m sure Duck Brand® would, too! Give them a shoutout on Twitter and tell them I sent you. While you’re there, check out all of the inspiration they are always sharing!

very nice! I’m wondering how well it will hold it’s shape with all the movements, etc….do you suppose you could sandwich some thin chipboard or something between the layers of tape to make it more sturdy?

Awesome idea with the glitter duck tape. I make things with duck tape and I just love the glitter Tape although I had no idea of what to use it for. Great idea. Thanks for taking the time.
