Last weekend I got a little wild when
I got my hands on some of this:
And my kitchen ended up looking like this:
I went a little bit label crazy!
I’ve been wanting to get my utility room organized because it also doubles as my panty.
(Yeah, my kitchen has no pantry. Such a rip off!)
Chalkboard paint seemed like a great idea to help me get organized! I had bought some cute green totes at Walmart to store items in as well as some green plastic containers. I felt the urge to label them with the chalkboard paint. While I was at it, I decided to label my black canisters, too!
I just taped off where I wanted to paint and got busy spreading the chalkboard love.
The canisters and plastic containers took 2 coats of paint.
I didn’t want to paint directly on my new totes, so I grabbed some stashed cardboard (Hey, I’m a scrapbooker. I hoard all things paper!) and cut it up into the size I wanted my labels. It only took one coat of paint on the cardboard! Then I punched a hole in it with my Crop-a-dile and tied it to the totes with some ribbon.
Easy peasy!
Cheap, cute labels and there is still a TON of paint left.
I love this way of labeling with the chalkboard paint and cardboard. I see more labels in my future!
And, for the record, nothing is safe in my house from this paint!
And happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!
Especially my great hubby and my wonderful dad. 🙂

I saw this on DIY Dish and thought it was a new idea. Go figure. Surprise. Found some Chisel markers (4 white pack) at ACMoore so now I have to get some paint. I loved the way the girls added some marker accents around the labels. I think I may be ready to label everything from the quilt fabric to the scrapbooking and stamping supplies. I'm ready
