Have you ever been camping? If so, you know people say that anything you eat tastes better when you’re camping. You may have even experienced it! When my now husband and I were dating we would backpack and camp a bit and, let me tell you, even Raman noodles were super tasty at the end of the day!
We’ve upped our camping food game since then, and recently did a big camp with our Cub Scout pack. I brought some kebabs for dinner one night at they were absolutely devoured. And I like to think it’s because they were so tasty!
The marinade recipe for these Grilled Marinated Steak Kebabs from Simply Scratch is really, really good! No, I didn’t serve up steak to the Cub Scouts and their parents. I subbed in chicken for our kebabs! It’s way more affordable. But I did use this marinade, and it really made the chicken scrumptious. Also on our kebabs were mushrooms, tomatoes, green peppers, and onions.
Incidentally, we served our kebabs over rice, and they were a big hit. The pre-made kebabs made grilling them at camp very easy, and the instant rice cooked up in a jiffy.
