Strawberry season has sadly come and gone in Tennessee. We devour as many fresh strawberries from local farms as when can while it lasts! One of my favorite recipes for strawberries is my grandmother’s Strawberry Pie. We had just enough berries for one pie, but I had a second pie crust that needed to be used as well. I went on a hunt for a pie recipe that I could use with items that I already had in the kitchen. And I found a real winner!
This Chocolate French Silk Pie from Baker Bettie was just what I was looking for! I had all of the ingredients on hand save for one of the eggs, which did not seem to compromise the recipe one little bit. This pie is so rich and decadent… it’s hard to believe you wouldn’t need special ingredients to make it! Or that it was made with unsweetned chocolate (blech!). Be prepared to drink a tall glass of milk with this pie! We’re adding it to our list of regular desserts.
