I don’t know about you, but I love tools that are multi-purpose. It’s less clutter and more functional. Speaking of less clutter and more functional, I’m also big on organization! Between my 2 little boys and a ALL the things in my house, organization is the name of the game around here!

I was super excited when I was offered the chance to review the LabelWorks LW-600P Portable Label Printer from Epson. Helloooooooo, organization! But we all know about using label makers for organizing the kitchen, our craft rooms, and the kids’ toys. I wanted to try something different! (Though if you want to see the very first label I made you can see it on my Instagram feed!)

My youngest son just celebrated his 5th birthday, and I thought it would be super fun to create some custom ribbon and tags for one of his special gifts!

This portable label printer has some awesome features.

For one, the software works for both PCs and Macs as well as Android phones and iPhones. Do you realize what that means?? You can print on the go! This feature has me so excited. The printer has Bluetooth capability so it can connect cordlessly to your cell phone and you can print away. Perfect for customizing pretty ribbon for a bouquet you grab on the way to a party or going to a friend’s house to help them organize their craft room.

The printer comes with an AC adapter, but can also be battery operated for portable use. It also comes with a USB cord to hook up to computers.

The label maker will print on tapes up to 1-inch wide. It also has cartridges available in a variety of mediums including ribbon, fabric, and iron on. They also have cartridges that will print gold ink!

The software is very intuitive and user friendly. You can use any font on your computer, and it comes with a large assortment of symbols. You can even generate barcodes and QR codes!

I was sent the 1/2″ sky blue ribbon cartridge which prints black ink that I used to customize for my son’s birthday gift!

I created the ribbon by selecting the gift and cake symbols from the printer software. I typed in my phrase and selected the font and did some resizing. I repeated the pattern by clicking the Ribbon Repeat pattern icon and selecting how many times I wanted it to repeat. Then it was as simple as hitting print!

I tied up my little gift box with my brand new customized ribbon!

With the regular 1/2″ label tape, I made to and from tags and printed them out. I cut one end on each of the new tags to give them a flag look then placed them on the gift.

So easy right? Now that I’ve used it for fun, I’m ready to get my organization on. I think I’m going to tackle the games cabinet first. What a hot mess!
