Inspirational Glitter Egg Art

March 27, 2013 By: Michele McDonald6 Comments

I’m so sad to see my month of guest designer for P K Glitz come to an end.
Though it will be easy to come up with an excuse to play with their glitter!
For my final project I wanted to make something inspirational for my boys.
In this day and age, it can be hard to stand out in the crowd.
Or, you could have the opposite problem and stand out from your friends or classmates and that may be looked upon as a bad thing.
I want my boys to know that it is OKAY to stand out. I want them to stand out and be individuals.
And I want them to be okay with that and know that their father and I are okay with it, too!
And with Easter approaching, it was the perfect time to make some inspirational glitter egg art.
For this project you will need the Pastels Color Wheel glitter, the mini spoon, the anti static brush, and Wonder Film all from P K Glitz.

I love the Wonder Film! It is basically a double sided adhesive sheet. Perfect for glittering!
To make the glitter egg art, I made an egg template out of some scrap cardstock then traced it 10 times on the cover of the Wonder Film. I then cut out the eggs and layed them out on a sheet of 8×10 white cardstock.
One at a time, I removed the top of each piece of Wonder Film and added glitter to the eggs.
Save one.
That will be our “stand out” egg!
I made stencils of sorts for our special egg using the top covers of the Wonder Film from the other eggs we have already glittered. You can use punches or freehand cuts to block off sections of the egg you don’t want to glitter.
Once you have glittered the exposed area, remove the film a piece at a time to add your other glitter colors.
I love how this egg stands alone from the other eggs!
I used 3D Crystal Lacquer to freehand write out “Stand Out!” on the cardstock then sprinkled with glitter.
Add your cardstock to a pretty frame and you have yourself a fun an inspirational piece of artwork for Easter!
I love the message this piece sends!
This will be fun to pull out for Easter for years to come.
