Social Saturday - Hustle & Bustle!

I hope everyone has been having a great holiday weekend!

Did you brave the crowds yesterday?
I didn't.
I'm not brave enough! šŸ™‚

I've been busy taking care of an under the weather babe. Between the stomach bug that ran rampant through the baby room at daycare AND cutting his first tooth, this poor little guy hasn't been feeling too well. The above photo was taken last weekend when we stayed the night at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. He did his best to enjoy it!

The past couple of year's I've enjoyed making a pumpkin roll at Thanksgiving. Its just so good! I use the Libby's recipe and it always turns out perfect. This year I decorated it with the little acorns that my little man and I made together! (Which he was so proud to tell people all weekend!)

I was also asked to bring cranberry sauce to Thanksgiving dinner this year. It was a first for me (and I don't really care for it much - I prefer it out of a can!!) but I think it turned out pretty well. I did the orange juice/sugar/cranberry combo. It was simple enough!

Every Friday after Thanksgiving I attend a fun event in east TN with my mom called the Fantasy of Trees. There are literally hundreds of decorated Christmas trees at the local convention center that have been decorated by local companies and schools and are sold off to raise money for the local Children's Hospital. Its also when we get to visit Santa! As well as plenty of activities for the wee ones. This is the first time my little man has agreed to having his face painted. He loved it!

And when we stay with my parents in east TN, we never know what new toys my mom has found since our last visit. Apparently this time there was a new Transformer's mask. BIG hit. lol!

I hope you'll join me tomorrow for the beginning of the 3 week Homemade Christmas party!
I'm so excited for it to start I can barely stand it!! šŸ™‚
Until then...

  1. First - your boys are just tooo cute! That helmet shot is so fun. šŸ™‚ You can just tell he's got the biggest grin on under there.
Sorry your little guy was sick though - that's no fun! I hope he's feeling better!!

  2. Aww I hope your little guy feels better soon! I'm so sorry he's been sick! It sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! šŸ™‚ That pumpkin roll looks so yummy!

  3. Love the acorns. You know me, not at all crafty, but I did make witch hats of a similar fashion for my birthday treat for school (I teach 4th grade). The kids were amazed. My teammate loved them, so I told her how to make pilgrim hats, and her class was astounded with my DIY talents.

    Too funny!

Tell your son I like the acorns please, keep those compliments coming!
