An Artisan Affair 2015 – A Vintage & Handmade Festival

an-artisan-affairOh my goodness, you guys! I have been presented with such an amazing opportunity the last couple of weeks!

I was asked to be a featured blogger for An Artisan Affair along with my friends Deneen at Dreaming In Color and Bev at Flamingo Toes! What is An Artisan Affair you ask? It is a vintage and handmade festival that raises funds for local cancer charities. It is SUCH a great cause! And I am so proud to be a part of it.

The festival is a two day event – today and tomorrow (if you’re in the Nashville area then come on out!) at the Oaklands Historic House in Murfreesboro, TN. The grounds are STUNNING. And I got a sneak peek this morning and have been editing photos all afternoon to show you ALL the fun things!

I also had my first opportunity to be on television on the Lifestyle with Denise Simons show, but more on that later on.

The grounds of the Oaklands Historic House have been transformed. Vendors with their wares are set up everywhere. Flowers in bright pink are beautifully placed. PINK is the focal color.

The local YMCA After Breast Cancer (ABC) and Wig Bank will receive proceeds from the event. They strike a close chord with An Artisan Affair’s founder.

TilinaTilina Hill is the amazing woman running everything behind the scenes of this event. Breast cancer devastated her family, but instead of letting that devastation bring her down, she found a way to give back to the cancer community and raise awareness of this terrible disease.

This is the 2nd year for An Artisan Affair, but the first time it is located at the Oaklands Historic Museum. And let me tell you, after meeting Tilina, I can tell you this event is going to get better and better every year. She is a one woman powerhouse! She is passionate about her cause, her event, and her vendors.

vendorsThe vendors have gone all out with their tents. Deneen, Bev, and I were able to get into the event early this morning to get a look at what everyone had to offer. I think we talked to just about everyone and they were all so nice and ready for the next two days!

I’m excited to go back again tomorrow when I’ll be taking the stage for demonstrations and to get my shop on!

I thought I would share some of the fabulous eye candy in store for you if you can make it to An Artisan Affair this weekend. If you’re too far away, just enjoy the view!

I want ALL THE THINGS!!! I will for sure be spending a pretty penny tomorrow. I just hope the things I want are still there!

boy-back-from-heavenAlong with several vocal artists taking the stage during the event, is a very special family who have written a book you may have heard of, A Boy Back from Heaven. Celeste and her son Matthew have a unique and powerful story to tell and want to share it with everyone. They are selling and signing their book at the event and are so super sweet to talk to. Don’t miss them there!

horse-carriageAnd if you get tired of walking, take a the horse and buggy ride! These two are just waiting to cart you around the grounds. Isn’t this so fun?

food

Tomorrow I look forward to tasting the goods from Savoy Catering (of Cutthroat Kitchen fame!)

And this morning we were able to try out the delicious donuts from 2 Dudes Donuts. They were addictive!

stageI’ll be back on the grounds tomorrow for a live blogger demonstration starting at 11 am on the stage! I do hope to see you there.

Come out and support this wonderful event if you can. I know we would all love to see you there!

So I mentioned something about a television opportunity? Boy, was I nervous about this! There is a reason I’m a blogger. I live behind a computer. I don’t especially revel speaking in public. But this is one fear I may have overcome. You can see the entire television segment filmed for Lifestyle with Denise Simons here. It includes the entire 1-hour show which is ALL about An Artisan Affair and features Tilina, Deneen, and Bev. The above video is my particular segment (I begin at ~31:30 in).

If you made it this far I thank you for reading along! And if you see me tomorrow at An Artisan Affair, be sure to stop me and say hello!
