Some Crafty Inspiration

September 16, 2010 By Michele McDonald 5 Comments

I promised on Sunday to share some crafty inspiration with you that I discovered all over the CKC scrapbook convention. Keep in mind that these projects are NOT just for scrapbookers! Just look and you’ll see…   😉
Let’s start with some Halloween fun! This super cute banner actually came as a kit, but for $20 I’m pretty sure I could make several of these myself. And I plan on it!
These pumpkins were all blinged up! They looked to me like just your typical styrofoam pumpkin that had been spray painted. Then, of course, they were super bright with all that bling! This booth had bins and bins of bling for $.99 apiece. And you can bet I stocked up!
This is the top of the white pumpkin from the previous photo. I love the extra detail of the gold glitter across the top. This white and pearl pumpkin would look great as a decoration for a fall wedding!
I loved all of the elements of this scrapbook layout. From the glitzed up chipboard letters to the torn and worn paper around the photograph. But the best part of all is the flower. How gorgeous is that?
A close up of the flower. Its just stunning!
You may not have seen these if you are not a scrapbooker, but these are acrylic letters. There are also acrylic phrases (see the “Nana”?) and shapes. Often times it can be hard to figure out how to use these, but this booth had tons of examples and ideas.
This was a kit also, but sold out. I love the tabbed folders, and the cover is so simple but stylish. It would make a great flip photo album.
I loved this Grandma album! It was not sold as a kit as far as I could tell, but I analyzed it fairly well to figure out how to make my own. Basically the outside is two pieces of cardboard/chipboard bound together with a piece of heavy cardstock. I’m so making one of these!
And, finally, we have this super fun 12×12 paper holder expertly dressed up for your favorite Disney fan. I love how personalized it is. One of my girlfriends pointed out you could make one of these out of a shipping box… So keep an eye out on those boxes that arrive on your doorstep!
So, what did you think? Did you find any inspiration?
I know I did!

So which convention where you at? You know I work a lot of those shows.
The “love” scrapbook page is gorgeous and those pumpkins are just fabulous. If I have time, I might have to try and make some of those.

Way cool stuff! Bins of bling for $.99?! Oh my my. I was debating about going to the one in my neck of the woods in November (well after I’m done with stashbusting!). Decision made!
