Make your slime out of this world by creating textured galaxy slime!
Slime recipes have been around for ages, but the slime phenomenon has truly taken off the last several months. I have heard stories from friends who can’t find glue at the store to make slime because it’s been flying off the shelves.
FloraCraft® Make It: Fun just came out with these fun Slime Ballz; a textured additive for slime to make play even more fun! My boys and I love to make slime so we couldn’t wait to give it a try. We decided to make our own galaxy slime with glitter and the Slime Ballz for some fun imaginative play.
Supplies:
Elmer’s School Glue
Elmer’s Classic Glitter Glue, Purple
Borax
Popsicle sticks (for stirring)
Black food coloring
Silver glitter
FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Slime Ballz
Not shown: water, glass bowls
1. In a bowl, add 1/2 cup glitter glue and 1/2 cup water.
2. Mix until well blended with a Popsicle stick.
3. In a separate bowl mix 1 tsp borax and 1 cup water with a Popsicle stick. Mix until well combined, but know not all of the borax will fully dissolve. Add glue mixture to the borax solution.
You will note right away the glue mixture starting to look more solid. Mix the two solution together with the Popsicle stick, then with you hands until well combine. Drain excess water.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 as previously stated with Elmer’s School Glue and water. Once well combined, add a few drops of food coloring and stir to combine. Add Slime Ballz, as many or few as you like, and plenty of glitter. Stir to combine.
Also repeat steps to create borax solution. Once combined, add glue mixture and stir well with Popsicle stick then with your hands. Remove excess water.
Place both slime mixtures into a bowl. Use hands to combine and mix them together.
The two slimes won’t incorporate into each other, but there will be streaks of the purple glitter slime running through the textured black slime. It gives a fun effect of galaxies in outer space!
The galaxy slime forms a fun texture that kids will love to play with. And it doesn’t stick to their hands!
One of my favorite things about making slime with my boys is how it allows them to use their imaginations in how they play with it! They can grab some of their favorite space toys and play all sorts of fun games with this textured galaxy slime!
