Must Have Craft Tips & More!
This month we’re focusing on Home Decor and today I’m sharing my favorite 3 Easy Decorating Tips for Any Decor! These are my go-to’s for decorating. I check every display I put together or item I buy against these three tips – honest!

3 Easy Decorating Tips for Any Decor!

1. Start with what you love.

It’s easy to get all sucked into pretty Pinterest photos and the coolest “new” things, but if they aren’t really your style or you don’t absolutely love them, it will kind of be like infatuation. Which is fun for a while, but then you get tired of it and you have to start over. Try to choose decorating items that you really love and that fit with your overall style. That doesn’t mean that you can’t pick things that are fun or whimsical, that is what gives your decor personality. Just choose items that make you happy!

2. Hang your wall art at eye level.

Try and keep your artwork at eye level on your walls, it will make everything look more put together. If you put your artwork up too high (an easy mistake to make) then everyone will be craning their necks to see that awesome vintage stitchery or cute photo of your kiddos. If you’re doing a gallery wall, keep the horizontal center of the gallery at eye level. It’s totally ok to have things higher or lower, but the overall display should be centered where you look.

3. Decorate with odd numbers

15 Plates and 3 Items on the Buffet = Odd Displays!

Now this is not a hard and fast rule – I am all in favor of fun symmetrical displays. Two paintings side by side, or pretty vases on each end of the mantel make for a great, put-together look. But the general idea is that odd numbers, especially items in threes, are more visual appealing. They actually add more visual interest and force the eye to move around the group! Cool how the brain works huh? So if you’re putting together a vignette, a gallery wall, or even flowers in a vase – go for an odd number!

So easy right? I promise if you do these three things, they will be a great foundation for decorating in your home.

Great tips! I don't necessarily go for what's in style. I know the minute I see it if I love it. Usually It's vintage and chippyl :) Thanks for sharing with SYC. hugs, Jann
