DIY Day of the Dead Party Ideas

October 18, 2019 By: Michele McDonaldcomment

Hello and happy Friday everyone!

Can you believe we are more than halfway through October already and Halloween along with the other holidays are right around the corner?! SO crazy to me!

Must Have Craft Tips & More!
Today, I am here to share some wonderful ideas to help you throw a Day of the Dead party. There is just something about this colorful holiday honoring those that have gone before us that I didn’t want to overlook during all the other holidays of this time of year.

I have gathered many ideas to help you throw a Day of the Dead party of your own or to add to the ideas that you may currently have for a party.

Twelve O Eight Blog
Greet your guests immediately by creating this DIY Sugar Skull that can be placed on your door as welcome to the party.

Better Homes & Gardens
Paint pumpkins with sugar skulls. Leave them black and white or add color. Either way they make the perfect decorations and they could even be created at the party for a fun activity!

Field Guide 35
Your guests will definitely get into the party spirit when they walk up an see this colorful porch greeting them!

pinterest
For a more sophisticated party, hand draw sugar skulls onto wine bottles and use them as candle holders. These could also be used around the photos of your loved ones that you are honoring.

Just Add Confetti
These little skeleton treats would make a great treat during the party or as a party favor.

Michelle’s Party, Plan It
Check out this colorful dessert bar for the party.
The more color the better when it comes to Day of the Dead so don’t be shy with it!

Baking a Moment
Don’t forget the yummy food for your party!
Create this Day of the Dead Cupcakes for an eye catching treat!

Growing Up Bilingual
Here is another way that you could use pumpkins in your Day of the Dead decor. Pumpkins, flowers, candles and sugar skulls make a pretty great combination if you ask me!

Color Made Happy
Love these Day of the Dead Sugar Skull painted pots! Place succulents or your favorite flowers inside. They make perfect decorations and also can be a party favor!

Deep Space Sparkle
Create your own Papel Picado to hang throughout your party for even more color!

There you have it! Do you celebrate the Day of the Dead? How do you decorate? We’d loved to know so tell us in the comments.
