Adele meets The Dark Side Tote Bag

January 18, 2016 By Michele McDonald 2 Comments

Adele meet The Dark Side Tote Bag - using gold HTV and tote from Target's $1 Spot!
I am so in love with my new tote bag! And it only took about 20 minutes to make. It totally appeals to my sense of humor, and two of my current favorite things: Adele and Star Wars.

I can’t get enough of Adele’s new album. Can I get an “amen” that we’ve all being waiting literally years for it to be released? And with the recent release of the new Star Wars movie… well, I’m all about everything Adele and the Dark Side right now. And, even though he is not physically in the new movie, Darth Vader will always be my favorite Star Wars bad guy.

So now every time I see this bag I smile and start humming!

One of the reasons this bag was so easy to make was the that tote itself was already made and decorated with the stripes and hearts. It was a recent $3 find in the Target Dollar Spot! You could totally paint yourself a similar tote with stencils, but for $3 I just couldn’t pass it up.

I chose gold glitter heat transfer vinyl (affiliate link) for my design since I felt it would really pop off of the red heart.

Don’t forget when you’re cutting heat transfer images to flip them horizontally first!

After cutting, peel off the negative vinyl and place on the tote bag. Iron according to htv directions then remove the plastic. And your image is complete!

Isn’t it fun? I know not everyone is going to “get it,” but I don’t care. I get it and those who know me well will, too. Plus I think I earned some cool mom points with my kids who completely approve of all things Star Wars!
