Craft Space Sneak Peek

You guys, I am so excited to share that my craft space makeover should be complete in just another week or so!! The weather (snow and rain) really set me back, but things are back on track! I should be ready to share the full reveal in early April!

I have been sharing lots of sneak peeks at the progress on social media (Instagram|Facebook|Twitter), so if you follow me there you’ve seen most of these photos. But I thought it would be fun to pull them all together into one post for a big sneak peek!

The photo above shows my original craft space after I cleaned it out so we could uninstall it. You can see how it looked full of my supplies as far back as 2010 and more recently nearly a year ago in 2014. When we moved into this house I was an avid scrapbooker and this space served me well. But as I branched out into other crafts, this space did not fit me as well. And now that crafting is my full time job, I need a space that can maintain me!

LOTS of changes are in store for my new craft space including bright colors and fun new furniture. I finally made a trip to Ikea in Atlanta to stock up on some great storage. The hubs made me an amazing craft desk.

I may even have an Ikea hack up my sleeve!

I have added a lot of custom touches to the craft desk to make it both functional and fun!

I’m even making sure my craft storage fits into the space by giving the pieces simple makeovers with vinyl!

My fabric stash has plenty of awesome storage in this new craft space. I can easily access it and see what I have.

I finally got my hands on a spool rack. I was going to hang it on my new pegboard, but found an even better place for it! Which leaves me with extra space on the pegboard. Very exciting!

The main thing I’m working on for my new craft space is making it my own to fit my needs and my palette. I’m owning it. So I’m putting not only my personal stamp on it but my name, too. You walk in there, you know who it belongs to.

All of these changes are to inspire one thing: CREATIVITY! And, let me tell you, it is working!

And, of course, with any makeover comes a purge. This one was pretty huge. I had things in my space that stayed unused/unopened for years. It was time to let go. I took a huge pile to Goodwill, but I saved some of the unopened, brand new product for some fun giveaways. So be on the lookout for that when the big reveal rolls around!
