Don't want to carve into your pretty new pumpkin? Give a tattoo instead using these FREE downloadable patterns! There’s more than one way to decorate a pumpkin! If you’re against making a big mess digging out the insides for carving or just want to leave your pumpkin intact to last longer, you may want to try out these Pumpkin Tattoo Labels. The labels are designed to look like the pumpkin has been creatively stenciled or some similar technique that took much more time than simply applying a label to it. These are perfect for indoor pumpkin decorating or covered front porches.

Obviously pumpkins are not the ideal shape for a large oval label, BUT we can definitely work with it and make it fit our needs.

1. Start by finding the smoothest side of the pumpkin. Place the label on this side and smooth from left to right and top to bottom. Basically the four corners will pop out a bit from the ridges in the pumpkin. We’re going to fix that!

2. Take a pair of sharp precision scissors and cut into one of the corner towards the center of the label to where it no longer bulges out (~1/2 – 1″).

3. Smooth down the top edge of the label. You just cut then smooth down the bottom on top of it. The label will overlap slightly but overall will be barely noticeable, if at all.

4. Continue working through all of the corners of the label until it is completely smooth.

Can you tell the places where the label was cut and pieced back together?

This gentleman skeleton is one of my favorite designs from the Halloween set!

I love to decorate with pumpkins so I have all of the tattooed pumpkins sitting on my front porch.

After Halloween, switch those labels over to the fall collection. I love the “Welcome” label for greeting guests at the front steps, and the “Thankful” label for the kitchen table.

And, of course, feel free to use your imagination to use these labels just about anywhere! I have a covered cake stand just begging to be decorated with the “Home Sweet Home” label!

Great idea especially since the pumpkin will last longer when they are not carved. I turned my pumpkins into snowmen last year! It was fun. Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday. Hope to see you next week!
