Fabric Banner Decals

I'm always on the look out for fun new decor for my boys' rooms. When the folks behind Royal Design Studios, the fab stencil company, came out with Wallternatives™ I knew I had to try them out!
Wallternatives™ wall decals are a colorful alternative to dress up your walls without being a permanent fixture. They can easily be peeled up and moved around, perfect for dorm rooms, apartments, holiday decor, and other places where you would not want to permanently affix something to a wall.
I thought the Patriotic Bunting Wallprints would look great in my oldest son's room to help dress up his desk area. With the superhero theme we have going on in there red, white, and blue are pretty much our staple colors.
These decals are made from a premium polyester fabric backed with repositionable adhesive and use a 4-color printing process.
These particular decals are huge! Each piece of bunting is 10"x11".
Under my son's loft bed is his desk area. The bare wall next to his desk has always bothered me, but I left it alone because I never could decide what to put there. I guess I was just waiting to discover these wall decals!
I cleared off the top of the shelves under the wall to lesson the clutter. Then it was just a simple matter of applying the decals to the wall! I worked with one piece of bunting at a time. I tend to be super anal about symmetry so I wasn't going to be satisfied until I had the bunting perfectly centered. I smoothed each piece onto the wall and if I needed to go back and adjust one it was super simple to peel it up and make slight adjustments to the alignment.
I hung a cute corkboard monogram to finish off the space.
The bunting came as a pack of 7, and I only used 4 on the wall. I decided to try the last 3 on the bedroom door and, though the door is textured and the bunting lays over gaps in the faux door panels, it looks SUPER cute! It sticks great and just makes the door look so fun. Wouldn't these be perfect on a dorm room door?
I think the patriotic bunting is a great accent for my son's desk! And the colors match perfectly with the rest of his room. And if he ever tires from it I will be happy to take it off of his hands and use in our July 4th decor!
