Framed Floral Map

Make a framed floral cross-stitch map on new stitchable mesh from DMC!

This is a sponsored post on behalf of DMC. As always, all opinions are my own.

Make a framed floral cross-stitch map on new stitchable mesh from DMC!Cross-stitch was the first craft I can remember my mom teaching me when I was young. It was fun and a great way to pass the time, but I don’t think I ever did it again after my teenage years until just a couple of years ago when I started applying it to unconventional items like office supplies or using a faux cross-stitch technique on a dress or the wall. It seems the skill is making a comeback these days!

DMC has some fun new products available including this Stitchable Mesh (affiliate link). I knew just just wanted I wanted to do with it once I saw it. And I am loving how this floral cross-stitch map turned out on it!

Make a framed floral cross-stitch map on new stitchable mesh from DMC!The Mesh is super fun and comes in 10″x10″ sheets with a shiny silver on one side and sparkling gold on the other.

Make a framed floral cross-stitch map on new stitchable mesh from DMC!I found this floral map cross-stitch pattern from the Stitch Line shop (affiliate link) on Etsy. It is AMAZING!! And I kind of want every pattern in the shop.

Make a framed floral cross-stitch map on new stitchable mesh from DMC!The pattern clearly listed all of the DMC threads that I would need for the project. Isn’t that a pretty palette?

Make a framed floral cross-stitch map on new stitchable mesh from DMC!I focused on stitching North America, though I eventually want to go back and do the entire pattern.

I added a little stitched heart right around where I thought home should be, Tennessee.

Because of the see through mesh, I have the ability to color the back drop of the pattern. I taped a piece of brightly colored paper to the backing of a picture frame. Insert the mesh into the frame and add the backing.

Make a framed floral cross-stitch map on new stitchable mesh from DMC!How fun is that?? I love how the shiny silver side of the mesh catches the sunlight. And it really makes the bodies of water on the map stand out. I am officially obsessed with this stuff!

It is so pretty. How did you finish the mesh to keep it from unraveling while you were working on it. Thank you

You can wrap the edges with washi tape to keep them from fraying while you work. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Julie! Any of your local craft stores that carry DMC products (threads and such) should carry the mesh. You can also find it on Amazon. http://amzn.to/2kK18er (affiliate link)

        Hello Michele,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my comments. Unfortunately the mesh prouct (DMC mesh) is new product just released too the US market. Thus it is not available in Australia as yet and according to my local Australian store it is unlikely not to be released until 2018! I appreciate your link to amazon but they are asking x3 the standard price plus shipping to send a small roll of less than 25 grams too Australia which I believe is truly outrages! I am a pensioner thus only have a limited budget I am not going to blantantly ripped off to get such a small peice of fabric. There has to be a better simpler way! Disappointed..
