My Favorite Christmas Ornaments

My blogging buddy Bev at Flamingo Toes is hosting an ornament party this month,
and I wanted to play along!
In no particular order, here are some of my faves from our tree: Our First Ornaments

1. We received several 1st Christmas ornaments our first holiday together. I love looking at them and remembering what our Christmases were like back then.
2. I was determined to have some ornaments for our tree our first Christmas together so we stocked up on a lot of inexpensive ball ornaments. This snowman is one of my favorites from that stash.
3. We had a few picture ornaments to show off our little family. The snowflake features my “first born”, our puppy Sienna (who is now 7!).
4. This ornament is actually older than the rest in this set. It was given to me by my parents as a Christmas present decoration when I was in high school (I played the trumpet in the band). I never put it on a tree until I was married.

Ornaments full of Memories

5. This cutie pie little blue bird was made by my husband when he was a little boy. My mother-in-law was sweet enough to give us several of his old handmade ornaments. I love them!
6. Another oldie but goodie made by the hubs when he was little. I think the broken painted pretzels give it character!
7. This precious little angel (actually from set of 2) belonged to my husband’s great grandmother. We inherited them in her passing, and they really help make our tree shine.

Ornaments that Make Me Smile

8. This snowflake is my little guy’s very first handmade ornament! The day after Thanksgiving we head to east TN (if we’re not already there) and go to a fun event called the Fantasy of Trees. They have a lot of crafting for kids to do and its where we always get our photos with Santa taken. My little guy was just a mere 3 months old when he put his little inked thumb on this premade ornament!

9. I love ornaments that remind me of my friends. It gets harder and harder for us to get together as the years go on since we are so spread out. But having these ornaments on the tree helps me feel that they are nearby during the holidays.

10. My husband’s grandmother always find the cutest little ornaments to give us each year. She buys a lot of them at craft fairs. This snowman is one of my favorites! And whenever I see them on the tree they always make me smile.

11. We have a local couple we love to get together with, but it doesn’t happen near as often as we like. But still, they are very in tune with the things we like and always seem to latch on to one thing that has us mesmerized at a given moment and find a way to turn it into a gift for us at Christmas. These little oragami birds are just such an example!

So what are some of your favorite ornaments?
I would love to hear about them!!

Want to join Bev’s party? The link is open until Christmas!

Later this afternoon we’ll start looking back at all the fun
that was had during Homemade Christmas!

Love the bird your husband made. The cranes and snowman are really nice as well.

Ooooh! This is so fun! Thanks so much for sharing all these and linking up to the party! :)I love all of them but I think Gavin's little thumbprint is so so cute and your hubby's little blue bird is sweet too. How awesome that your MIL shared those ornaments with you!
