I shared a sneak peek of this design on Instagram over the weekend. Did you catch it?

A couple of week’s ago Expression’s Vinyl sent me a box full of vinyl goodies to celebrate their 10th birthday and that pink icing with sprinkles HTV was in it (as well as the same design on adhesive vinyl). It screamed donuts to me, and I felt compelled to make something fun with it!

I came up with this fun outdoorsy design that incorporated a donut as a sun rising over the mountains. I think it turned out so cute!

Today I’m sharing the free SVG file with you and showing you how I layered the sprinkles and black vinyl to create the design on a t-shirt.

You can download the free Peace~Love~Donuts SVG file at the end of the post.

NOTE: I use Silhouette Software for all of my designing. Cricut instructions may be a bit different, but hopefully you will get the gist of what to do in their software with my directions.

Once you have download the file, open it in your Silhouette Software. Right click the image and select “ungroup” to separate all of the pieces of the image.

Click on the image of the donut and pull it aside off of the image of your cutting mat. Regroup all of the remaining image in black.

DON’T FORGET IF YOU ARE CUTTING ON HEAT TRANSFER VINYL, FLIP THE IMAGE HORIZONTALLY PRIOR TO CUTTING. DO THE SAME WITH THE IMAGE OF THE DONUT.

Cut the image in black on your vinyl then move it aside on the cutting mat in the software. Drag the image of the donut back onto the cutting mat and cut the sprinkles htv.

You now have 2 pieces of heat transfer vinyl to work with and they need to be layered appropriately to look right on the shirt.

Flip both images face down on your work surface. Place the sprinkles vinyl on the back of the black vinyl where it should go in relation to the mountains. Line of all of the edges so none of the sprinkles show where they aren’t suppose to. You can flip the vinyl around to see the front to check your work – the two layers of vinyl will stick together.

Line up the image where you want it to go on the shirt then slowly peel up the top layer of black vinyl. Make sure the bottom layer with the sprinkles htv stays in place.

Iron in place then remove the clear carrier sheet.

Place the 2nd layer of vinyl back over the sprinkles htv and iron in place.

If you are using the Cricut EasyPress, you want use a temperature of 305 degrees F and press for 15 seconds. The carrier sheets can be removed while the vinyl is still warm or after it has cooled.

Peel back the clear carrier sheet on the black vinyl.

For good measure I always flip the t-shirt over and iron from the back when I’m done.

I think it turned out super fun! Now my boys want one using the white sprinkles htv.

What do you think? Would you wear this?

Adorable! I'll have to try making this shirt. I have a giant shirt press. Wish I had the little Cricut instead! Thanks for sharing it with us at Tuesday Turn About!
