Stars & Stripes Patriotic Wreath

stars stripes patriotic wreath
Hello, friends! If you know me, you know I love a good red, white, and blue project. I have several under my belt including my favorite, my beloved ruffle patriotic wreath! Now that it is living on my freshly painted potting shed door, I need a new wreath for the front door. So I whipped one up with a fun stars and stripes theme!

I’m excited to share this project with you as a HUGE collaboration with over 100 other bloggers!
Today, we are ALL sharing a patriotic project.
Need inspiration for upcoming 4th of July activities? We have you covered!
And the end of this post you’ll find a link to all of the bloggers participating in this fun event!

july 4th wreath supplies
To make this stars and stripes wreath you will need a few supplies, including
a wreath form, burlap ribbon (both from Michael’s), silver chenille stems, star-shaped doily, wood doily (from Michael’s), firecracker candles (from Michael’s), patriotic sticker sheet & scrapbook paper, twine, and alphabet letter stickers.
patriotic burlap wreath
I first wrapped the entire wreath with the wider burlap ribbon. I love the strands of silvery red, white, and blue thread woven into it! I then loosely wrapped the star ribbon around the burlap ribbon.

To create the firecracker accent, make curly cues from the chenille stems by wrapping one end 4 times around a thick marker. Arrange two of the curly cues with three of the firecracker candles. Wrap the ends of the curly cues around the middle of the candles to keep all of the pieces together.
Wrap the star-shaped doily around the wreath and glue in place. Place the firecrackers on top of the doily and tie on with white twine.
Paint or color the wooden doily. I colored mine with a navy Bic marker and it worked like a dream! I placed a sticker from the sticker sheet in the center of the doily. Use Duck Tape to attach white twine to the back of the doily then tie it to the wreath, centered over the firecrackers.

It should look a little something like this.
stars stripes bunting
Cut the scrapbook paper into strips to make bunting. I used 3-D foam alphabet stickers to spell out “stars & stripes.” The letters were white (I already had them on hand) so I colored them red with a Bic marker. Punch holes in the top of the strips of paper then thread twine through the strips. Attach the ends of the twine to the wreath.

Make a bow with any leftover ribbon and tie to the top of the wreath.
I’m loving it! I’ve been wanting to make a wreath with bunting on it for ages and this definitely fits the bill.
I’ll be leaving this bad boy on the front door until Labor Day!

This is so cute!!!! I love that it has an antique quality to it too. You're definitely ready to celebrate America. I would love it if you linked this up to my Motivate Me Monday linky party at IT'S A ginger SNAP.
