Warm Mug Gift Idea

Christmas is just days away! If you’re in need of a last minute gift, I have a simple gift idea for you that can be adapted to whomever you choose to give it to. The main thing you need? A really awesome mug.

This shiny gold owl beauty is from Old Time Pottery. Once you have a mug selected you just have to decide how to fill it.

For this particular mug, I am going to fill it with the things one would need to make an excellent cup of hot cocoa. This includes the cocoa mix, marshmallows, and a small whisk.

As for wrapping the gift, grab a festive dishtowel, ribbon, and a pretty Christmas ornament.

I placed the cocoa mix and marshmallows in test tubes from a craft store and topped the whisk off with some gold ribbon. Place all of these items in the mug.

Other “warm” ideas would be items for a tea lover, coffee fan, or soup connoisseur.

Wrap the dishtowel around the mug and tie off the top with a rubber band or piece of twine. Punch a hole in the gift tag and run a thin ribbon through it and the decorative Christmas ornament. Tie these around the dishtowel. Take the large decorative ribbon and make a big pretty bow around the gathered dishtowel.

Not only is your Christmas gift presentation pretty, but functional as well! The dishtowel and ornament will be fun extra gifts to go with the warm mug set. This is a great gift idea for teachers, neighbors, and that hard-to-buy-for friend or family member.
