Retro Camper Keychain and Pattern

Retro Camper Keychain and FREE Perler Bead PatternAt the beginning of summer I introduced my boys to one of my favorite childhood past times: perler beads! Did you play with them when you were little? I’m surprised at the number of people I’ve talked to that don’t know what they are. In case you’re one of them, they are little beads that are available in a huge number of colors that you make patterns with on a board then iron to fuse the beads together. SO fun!

Another reason I bought these beads was so I could play with them, too! And make things like this fun retro camper keychain! Wouldn’t this be the cutest to hold the keys to your camper??

Retro Camper Keychain and FREE Perler Bead PatternI designed a cute little retro camper perler bead pattern (which could totally be used for cross-stitch, too!) that you can download and use. You will need a square board and ~7 different colors of beads, but color design is completely up to you.

I purchased most of my perler beads (affiliate link) online.

Retro Camper Keychain and FREE Perler Bead PatternFollow the directions that come with the beads to iron the pattern and fuse the beads together. You don’t want to melt them so much that you can’t see all of the holes in the beads.

Retro Camper Keychain and FREE Perler Bead PatternWhere the camper’s hitch is, loop a thin keychain ring through a gap in the beads. Add your key and you’re all set!

Now I just need a cute retro camper, right?? Wouldn’t that be a dream!!

Enjoy the pattern, and if you use it let me know! I’d love to see your creation!

I used the pattern to make a a quilted wall hanging. It really turned out cute. I tried to place a photo here, but couldn’t do it.
