Easy Star Wars Stormtrooper Snacks

Easy to make Star Wars Stormtrooper Pretzel SnacksIt’s my son’s 7th birthday! AND he’s having a LEGO Star Wars birthday party. AND tomorrow is Force Friday! It’s like the stars have all aligned.

In case you don’t know what Force Friday is all about, it’s when retailers release merchandise for the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie coming out in December. That’s a lot of hype for merchandise for a movie not coming out for another 3 months. My fingers are crossed it totally keeps up with the hype and then some!

Stormtrooper Pretzel Snacks

by Michele McDonald

Prep Time: 30 min.

Ingredients (4 dozen)

  • White melting chocolate
  • Small hard pretzels
  • Black edible marker

Melt a handful of chocolates in a microwave safe bowl by heating for 30 seconds at a time until melted.

Dip pretzels in chocolate and place on a wax paper-covered baking sheet.

With a small spoon, fill in the holes of the pretzel with more melted chocolate and cover the top of the pretzel as well.

Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to allow chocolate to harden.

Once chocolate is hard, draw stormtrooper face on pretzels with edible marker.

Serve immediately or seal in a plastic bag and place in the refrigerator for up to a week.

I tried this but the edible marker stopped working after a few lines because the melted chocolate keeps rubbing off, even after being chilled. Suggestions?

The chocolate definitely needs to be as cold as possible to work. Keep a paper towel handy to dab off any condensation that builds up on the chocolate as it warms. Also, try wiping the marker on the paper towel periodically to keep the ink flowing well.
