DIY Thanksgiving Pumpkin Place Setting

November 20, 2013 By: Michele McDonald8 Comments

If you’re still trying to figure out how to set your table for Thanksgiving, I have a super simple and expensive idea for you! All it takes is a quick trip to the craft store for a few supplies and the grocery for those cute little mini pumpkins that you can purchase by the basket.

Supplies:
mini pumpkins
memo picks
metal labels
number brads
lace
Kraft cardstock
adhesive
Trace the outside edges of the metal labels onto the Kraft cardstock and cut out. Apply adhesive (I used Super Sticky Tape for this project. Its SO sticky!) to the back of the metal label and attached the cardstock you cut out. Write or stamp your dinner guest’s name onto the label.

Wrap a piece of lace around a mini pumpkin and adhere the ends to the pumpkin. Apply more adhesive to the back of the label and attach it to the front of the pumpkin.

Confession: I hate my handwriting. I stamp whenever possible! ๐Ÿ™‚
Insert the back of the brad through the round end of the memo pick then, using a pair of small pliers (I used jewelry pliers), fold the ends of the brad around the memo pick. Make sure they don’t show from the front.

Make a washi tape flag under the brad and insert the pick into the top of the pumpkin.
I was able to whip up four of these in half an hour. So simple and so easily customizable!
With the addition of a couple of realistic-looking faux leaves on a plate, we have an adorable place setting just waiting for your guests on Thanksgiving Day! These little pumpkins last for weeks so you can easily make them up ahead of time so you can focus on cooking on turkey day.

Do you use place settings on your Thanksgiving table?
Its such a great way to your guests that you’re glad they are there!

Thank you, Laura! Believe it or not the placemats are scrapbook paper. ๐Ÿ™‚ I used the Martha Stewart circle edge paper punch to cut them out into giant doilies. (http://amzn.to/1zF33C3) Inexpensive and disposable – my kind of decorating for my messy family. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So pretty!! I love how it looks on the green plates with the leaves on it. The lace adds the right touch of softness to the pumpkin. Love it!!
