Get ready for fall by making this simple DIY pallet sign!
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hobby Lobby. The opinions and text are all mine.
I am so excited, you guys! The past few days have felt like fall, my very favorite season. It’s so cool in the morning that we need to grab a jacket before heading to school. Then it is SO pleasant during the day! Not the high humidity, high temps we are accustomed to here in Tennessee. It has be ready to get my fall decorating on!
When Hobby Lobby challenged me to create a pallet sign with a fall theme I was all over it. If you haven’t been to Hobby Lobby in a while you will be pleasantly surprised when you check out the raw wood aisle. There are so many raw pallets in all shapes and sizes just ready to be made into handmade signs. They just made crafting easier!
Supplies:
Raw pallet
Scrapbook paper (gather a few sheets so you have options!)
Small fall leaf embellishments
Acrylic paint
Ruffle trim
Embroidery hoop
Small glass vials
Small faux cotton stem
Not shown: Sticker letters, wood glue, hot glue gun
All supplies can be found at your local Hobby Lobby.
When I saw this barnwood raw pallet kit I fell hopelessly in love. It comes with 8 pieces of wood that you can put together to create a pallet. I used wood glue to glue the sides together then glued some scrap wood to the back and nailed it in place for good measure.
Separate the embroidery hoop. We are only going to use the inside piece.
Trace the inside edge of the embroidery hoop on the back of the scrapbook paper you decide to use. Cut out the circle, just outside of the line you trace so it will be covered by the embroidery hoop. Glue the circle to the center of the pallet.
Paint the embroidery hoop and the leaf embellishments.
Hot glue the ruffle trim around the edge of the hoop then glue the hoop to the pallet, covering the paper.
Use sticker letters to spell out your message on the scrapbook paper.
Hot glue leaves around the inside edge of the hoop.
For fun extra accent to go with the pallet, I place the cotton stem in one of the glass vials. It help give the sentiment on the sign so much more meaning! Not only do we gather in the fall for various get together, but we gather fall leaves and harvesting/gathering cotton.

This came out very nice and so simple to make! I've been eyeing embroidery hoop crafts for a while but have yet to try it out. Hopefully soon I will.
