Homemade Christmas Recipes - TidyMom

Happy Holidays Scrap Shoppe readers!!!! I'm Cheryl, aka TidyMom! When I am not baking, crafting or running around with my camera you can find me over in my little corner of the universe at TidyMom.net

What a fun few weeks it's been here with all the great fun and ideas!! I was so thrilled when Michele asked me to join in.....I mean seriously, I can't turn down a chance to share some sugary goodness!!! ........how about some sugary goodness with a little booze!

This is a favorite recipe of mine that I am seriously bonkers for! AND the good news?.........you don't even need to know how to bake to whip up these intensely wonderful goodies!!

These Rum Balls are a lovely little treat that would be an elegant addition to your cookie tray or boxed up in a little box to gift! Just remember to make them a few days ahead, because they are best after they sit a few days.

Grab your apron and come along.............

Rum Balls
print recipe here

3-¼ cup crushed vanilla wafers 1-½ cups chopped walnuts
¾* cup powdered sugar (*additional sugar
needed for rolling)
3 Tblsp light corn syrup
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder ½ cup rum

1. In a large bowl, stir together crushed vanilla wafers, sugar, cocoa and nuts. Blend in corn syrup and rum.

2. Shape into 1-inch balls, and roll in additional* powdered sugar (tip- I cover my hand in powdered sugar while I roll the balls, so they don't stick to my hands so bad). Store in an airtight container for several days to develop the flavor.

3. Roll again in powdered sugar* before serving.

Enjoy!
