OMG Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie {Homemade Christmas Recipes}

December 13, 2011 By Michele McDonald 3 Comments

Our guest today claims not to be big on cooking, but she still shares some amazing recipes! I’m so excited to have my friend Allie sharing a great dish with us again this year!

Hi! I’m Allie from Allie’s New Day, back again this year to share another fab recipe with The Scrap Shoppe readers. Thanks Michele for inviting me back!!

My sister shared this recipe with me last year, and it’s been a huge hit. And for those of you out there who are saying “but I don’t MAKE pies!”, try this one. Seriously. It’s very easy, and soooooo yummy!

Gather your cast of characters (ingredients):

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup melted butter (splurge..the butter is worth it)
2 eggs, slightly beaten
6 oz package of chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp vanilla (not pictured)
9 inch unbaked pie crust

1. Mix the flour & sugar, then add the melted butter and mix well (I use a fork).
2. Stir in eggs, chocolate chips, pecans and vanilla.
Aaannnnd that’s your filling! Yes, it’s THAT easy.

3. Roll your pie crust into the pie plate.
4. Add the filling.
And because I’m not perfect when I put the crust in the pan, I use a fork to crimp the edges – it hides numerous imperfections!

5. Bake for approx 1 hour at 325F or until the pie is golden brown. (I usually put mine in for about 50 minutes.) The pie will wiggle a bit when you take it out of the oven, but will set as it cools.
And yes, you can see my “rustic” crust. Trust me, when you bite into the pie, all thoughts of
imperfection will completely disappear!!

Are you planning to make desserts for your holiday meal? What’s your go-to recipe?

Enjoy your new day!
