A couple of weekends ago we celebrated my “baby” turning 5! How does that even happen? I can barely believe he’s been on this Earth for 5 whole years. I still remember his birth! In detail!

My little guy had his heart set on a LEGO Chima theme for his birthday this year. You’re probably wondering what exactly LEGO Chima is? Yeah, I was too when he proposed it. It’s a cartoon that LEGO created back in 2013 and actually had 4 seasons. Then it just stopped. There is a rumor there may be another season this year, but LEGO recently discontinued ALL of their Chima LEGO sets so I’m not seeing that happening.

Basically the Legends of Chima is about a land ruled by animals, each belonging to a different tribe. They covet things called “chi” which gives them extra boosts of power. You can find the series on Netflix. It’s perfect for elementary aged kids.

Unfortunately for my son, he’s about 2 years too late on the whole Chima thing. I made cupcakes for his class with Chima cupcake toppers and no one, not one kid, knew who these characters were. 2nd and 3rd graders, yes. Preschool? No.

But he didn’t care. He LOVES these characters!

And, lucky for us, all of the sets still available in stores were clearancing out so we got them for a steal for his birthday! If you’re a LEGO fan, you know that kind of deal is hard to come by.
