Let’s take a few moments and talk about scrapbook kits! Now I know some of you immediately start to think, “Oh no! I don’t want to commit myself to a monthly kit club! I just don’t have the time or the money to spare.” Fear not! I’m going to share with you a few websites that offer great scrapbook kits without the commitment of joining a club!
Let’s start off with a brand new company that is offering their very first kits this month (and they created the adorable album kit seen above -> how yummy is that handmade felt cherry??): Paisleys & Polka Dots. They offer an album kit and/or a 2-page layout kits, each with instructions and photos of how to recreate each project. I would definitely be buying this album if I wasn’t going to a scrapbook convention this weekend!
Speaking of upcoming scrapbook conventions… I’m taking a class hosted by The Button Farm at CKC this weekend and will actually be making the album shown above. I’m very excited about it! The Button Farm offers several different album kits on their website, and I think you would have a hard time finding one you didn’t want!
Next up I want to talk about Scrap Can Do. Now, unfortunately, I’m not sure if they are still shipping out their kits because their blog hasn’t been updated since May and the kits on their website are only as current as April. They have an open Etsy shop that they also have full of kits. My recommendation would be to contact them before ordering (you can find their contact info on their website). But their album and project kits are so cute, I felt the need to share them regardless. How do you like that cupcake album up there? It’s one of Scrap Can Do’s retired kits, but it gives you an idea of how unique their projects are.
We all have heard of the company Quick Quotes; they are famous for their quotes on vellum. But did you know they offer kits, too? And not just page kits, but album kits and canvas kits also! The canvas kits are my favorite, and I actually own a couple. They are just so innovative! They do have a monthly kit club called Club Q, but most of their kits are available in their online store.
Scrap Attack Scrapbooking is an online scrapbook store that puts together kits with the products they have in stock. They are simply taking the guesswork out of putting products together by doing it for you! And they offer add-ons to each kit if you think you need just a little but more (but look at all the goodies they offer in one kit, and tell me you really need more!). The kit shown above is from July and is chock full of Jenni Bowlin and Basic Grey paper and loads of embellies from brand names like Zva Creative, Maya Road, and Prima.
I am loving the kits available from Scrapbook Doodle. Of course it helps that the above kit (the September kit) is loaded full of Flutter Butter paper from BoBunny (which is very similar to the Abbey Road collection by BoBunny which we all know I’m in love with [see this post and this post]). They offer various-sized kits which can help your pocketbook and also keep some past kits available on the website. And they all are full of scrappy goodness!
If you’re looking for something a little more elegant you might check out this month’s kit at Little Red Scrapbook. But don’t get the wrong impression! Not every month is this formal! In fact, you can expect something very different from each kit they offer month to month. While Little Red Scrapbook does offer monthly subscriptions to their kits, you can also purchase them individually.
The Scrappy Gourmet is quickly becoming one of my favorite scrapbook websites! Not only do they carry Melissa Frances products (love, love, love her stuff!), but they also have a great selection of album kits, cards kits, layout kits, and project kits. The above project includes everything you see here. Yes, EVERYTHING! I love it!
I could not mention scrapbook kits without mentioning Swirlydoos. They offer gorgeous kits which often feature a lot of Prima and Zva Creative products. Now, while you can buy these kits individually online, they are often snatched up very early in the month. Monthly kit club members are guaranteed a kit so sometimes non-club members may get left out in the cold. But if its the first of the month and you think to check the Swirlydoos website, you just might be able snag one of these fabulous kits!
Now this is a kit! And you will pay a hefty price for it over at Bad Girls Kits, but if you look closely at all the products included with each kit, you’re getting your money’s worth and then some. They offer other kits with slightly smaller price tags, too.
If digi-scrapping is more your style, head over to the Shabby Princess where they offer a FREE new digital kit each month. And, yes, they keep past kits available for download, too!
There are a couple of other places to find fun scrapbook kits that don’t require a monthly commitment. Check out the Top 50 Kits website and also look at Etsy. In fact, I think next Thursday we’ll talk about Etsy and all the great things available from their community for scrapbookers.
