Simple State Love Art

simple state love art
I just love when a simple project comes to together that still has a lot of heart.
I have been wanting to make some state love artwork for our living room for a while now.
My husband and I are both born and raised Tennesseans. We're proud of our state!
And we're not afraid to show it.
Since I still have several sheets of American Crafts red, white, and blue glitter paper lying around (did you see my Uncle's Sam's Hat Vase and USA Punched Cans?) I decided some state love art with a patriotic color scheme was in order.

I don't even have a formal tutorial for this project. That's just how simple it is!
All you really need is a frame, paper, and this Ding Maps Font with all of the US states.

1) Find your state within the font, size it to fit your frame, and print it out.
2) Place the state printout face down on the back of the paper you will be using in the frame. Tape it in place.
3) Cut out the state using the printout as your guide.
I used the plain white glitter cardstock I had trimmed down to fit an 8x10 frame as my background.
I used the leftover blue corrugated glitter cardstock from my USA Punched Cans project for the state.
And I used some scrap red glitter cardstock to cut out a small heart to indicate my family's location within the  state.
Easy peasy and the perfect addition to my patriotic mantel which I will be sharing in full in a couple of weeks!
Disclosure: I was provided with these materials to use from American Crafts. All opinions and ideas expressed are 100% my own. And I do believe 110% that glitter should be used with all holiday crafts!
