In my house we have a 2 year old and a 4 year old.
That means one in diapers and one in underwear.
I dream of the day they are both in underwear! If you’re a parent, you know what I mean.
My 4 year old was a bear to potty train. I shared our story here along with a free potty training printable that we used. Obviously he finally got the hang of things. I’m hoping things will be easier with my two year old since he has big brother to set an example for him. He already likes to “sit” on his little potty when big brother sits on the big potty. He just doesn’t like to pull his britches down. We’ll get there.
Our main problem right now is summer because with summer comes heat which means trying to keep everyone hydrated. Both of my boys, especially the 2 year old, love to drink juice and water. And I’m not one to deny them their beverages. But with all of this drinking can come a lot of wet nights for the one in diapers.
So today I want to tell you about my new favorite product that is not only saving my washing machine but making those middle of the night wake-ups to change a wet toddler a little bit easier!

GoodNites Bedmats 007.04.0091
I recently was given the opportunity to try out GoodNites bed mats and, let me tell you, they are a dream!!
Basically they are large disposable mats that you spread out on your toddler’s bed. They have adhesive on the underside so they stick to the bedding and don’t move around as your toddler moves around in the bed.
We’ve been using them for a couple of weeks now on my toddler’s bed, and we even took them camping with us a couple of weekends ago. They are folded so flat that we could easily slip a couple of bed mats into our duffle bags and not have to worry about the sleeping bags getting wet.

Now when these two beg for something to drink before bed, I don’t cringe as much anymore.
Before, the thought of having to get up in the middle of the night to change my 2 year old’s wet diaper (he always gets up and tells us he needs to be changed no matter the time) was a seriously daunting task.
I mean, any parent can almost change their child’s diaper in their sleep. No biggie there. Its our superhero power.
But having to change out all of the bedding is a different story. That takes time
Time to find the new sheet, get the wet sheets removed, put the clean sheet on… and all the while my toddler is not in his bed which means he is most likely trying to play with his toys while I’m distracted putting together the bed which means there will be a fuss about trying to finally getting him back in his bed.
But not with the GoodNites bed mats!! After the diaper is changed, I simply pull up the bed mat and toss it.
I don’t even need to put a new one on because at this point the likelihood of having another soaking wet diaper by morning is more unlikely. I can put a new pad on before the next bedtime. So my toddler is heading immediately back to bed after the diaper change. No fuss. No muss.
And I don’t know about you, but when we have wet sheets I feel the need to go ahead and get them washed.
I hate having wet sheets in the laundry. So the GoodNites bed mats are giving my washing machine a break, too!

I like keeping this little one happy. If that means drinking some water before bedtime, I’ll happily do it.
If it means changing his diaper in the middle of the night, I’ll do it.
And if I can save myself some time and energy by using GoodNites bed mats, you can bet I’ll do it!

If you are interested in trying out GoodNites bed mats or the GoodNites bedtime underwear, I have good news!

What a lifesaver. We have one child who has a difficult time staying dry at night and I'm so sick of the wet sheets! I'll be grabbing some of these to try.
