DIY Mini LEGO Superhero Comic Books

diy-mini-lego-superhero-comic-booksLast week I shared our LEGO Superhero birthday party. Today I wanted to show you how easy the mini comic books we included in the goody bags were to make! Especially since you can use my handy dandy download to make it SUPER simple.

The LEGO Superheroes website has SO many awesome freebies that you should totally take advantage of, including full-page comics. They were a little large to include in the goody bags, but OH so cute! I simply downloaded them and resized them to fit my needs. You can always download the full-size versions there if you wish to do so!

diy-comic-bookTo create these mini comics you will need to download 5 files:
Comics Page 1
Comics Page 2
Comics Page 3
Comics Page 4
Comics Page 5

There are 3 comic books included with 12 pages per book (except the 3rd, it only has 11 pages).

Cut out each comic book page leaving 1/2″ of white space at the top. Score where the top of the comic book page meets the white space (I have this scoreboard and love it! –aff. link) on each page. Stack the comic book pages and staple together in the white space.

homemade-comic-bookMy favorite adhesive for things I never want to come apart is Super Sticky Tape from American Crafts. It’s hardcore! Place a strip of the tape on the front and back of the comic book in the white space.

comic-bookNow we need to create a cover for the top of the comic book. From scrap cardstock, cut out a rectangle approximately 2 1/4″ x 1 1/8″. Measure 1/2″ over from one side and score the paper long ways. Measure 1/2″ from the other side and score again. Fold along the scores and you have your comic book topper.

lego-superhero-comicEasy peasy!! Aren’t these the cutest things? My little guys have been carrying their comic books around everywhere. And they are the perfect size as a party favor!

I had the pages printed at Staples on 110 lb cardstock.

What is the size you used for the comics and how did you resize them. They have 10 different comic books now & I want to get them all, but smaller.
