Highlights from Memorial Day Weekend

We have been making the most of our 3 day weekend!
They don’t come along often enough. In fact, this is my first holiday off of work since New Year’s Day!
We’ve been lucky enough to have some gorgeous weather
so I wanted to share some of the fun things we’ve been up to.
patriotic ruffle wreath
Memorial Day begins the start of our patriotic season.
So of course my patriotic ruffle wreath has to go up on the door!
It will happily stay there until Labor Day.

canoeing
These two went on their first canoe ride.
And they apparently had a blast!

I’m a little scared to get in the canoe with them. I’m afraid they’ll tip it over!
So while they canoed with dad, I…

nashville flea market
…went to the Nashville flea market!
It was crazy crowded since it was a holiday weekend, but the vendors did not disappoint.
There was so much eye candy! I shared a lot of my finds on Instagram.

pvc pipe car wash
With all of the gorgeous weather we had to get out the PVC pipe car wash!
It was super easy to put back together after storing it away last summer.
And the boys were super happy to see it again.

raised bed gardens
Adult outdoor activities this weekend included finally getting the raised bed gardens full of vegetables.
I’ve never put off my garden so late in the season! All the washout weekends have really done a number on us.
Now we’re set with tomatoes, sweet peppers, eggplant, squash, and zucchini!

bundt pan flower pot
I’ve also been busy planting flowers and putting them in outside-of-the-box planters.
Here I put some marigolds and moss rose in an old bundt pan from my KY thrifting weekend.
I also put some succulents and more moss rose in this tool caddy I snagged at Target.

rock garden
Still on the to do list is my little rock garden that I resurrected last year.
(You can read the back story here.) Hopefully I can get it cleaned out and back to beautiful soon!

I hope you’ve had a great long weekend with your family!
And don’t forget why we were able to have it.
Hug a veteran and/or your favorite soldier!

I am totally in love with your patriotic wreath!!! Seeing as I haven't put any wreath up since Christmas, I think I am going to have to give yours a try! Thanks for the link to your tutorial!

Your weekend looks so fun!! I love all your gardening photos - especially how you planted in that bundt pan and the succulents in that little tool caddy are just the cutest!
