Tried it Tuesday! #5

May 6, 2014 By Michele McDonald 2 Comments

For today’s Tried it Tuesday you are getting a twofer. A what? You know, a two-for-one.
I have a delicious snack recipe as well as a yummy sauce to go with it. You don’t want to miss this one!

One day back in January I decided I want to try making hot soft pretzels. There are tons of recipes out there, and they don’t seem to be the most difficult thing to make. I search high and low for the perfect recipe for me which was something that didn’t require too much work.
I found the perfect Homemade Hot Pretzels at The Cottage Market! The dough pretty much mixes itself in the mixer while I prepped the oven and pans. The pretzels themselves are so easy to form (she links to a great You Tube video for reference) that my 5 year old rolls out our pretzels for us!
So we’ve covered easy to make. How about taste?
Delicious!! Everyone in the house loves these. And they get DEVOURED.

Every good hot soft pretzel needs an equally good dip to go with it.
I found a great pre-made mustard dip at the grocery store, but I also wanted a good beer cheese dip to go with it. I found a winner with the Smoked Gouda & Cheddar Beer Sauce at Paper and Cake! I do think the beer we used was a little too mild, but the dip was still SO good. The perfect pairing for the hot pretzels!
