Valentine Ruffle Wreath using Duck Tape
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I’ve had the itch to make some fun fresh decor for this lovey dovey holiday.

When Duck Brand® sent me a box of fun Valentine-themed tape, I knew I had the supplies I needed to make something fabulous!

With so many color options to choose from, I decided to use as many as possible to create a Valentine ruffle wreath for the perfect Valentine’s Day craft.

Valentine Ruffle Wreath Tapes

Duck Brand® has some new Valentine tapes such as the wild hearts and cheetah kisses as well as classic solids in some “sweet” colors.

And that silver?

That is not your standard silver Duck Tape, my friends.

It is so shiny.

Much shinier than the standard matte Duck Tape.

I love it!

Valentine Ruffle Wreath: Making Duck Tape Ruffles

Creating the ruffles for the wreath is a fairly straightforward, if not slightly time consuming, process.

Once you get into the groove it can go pretty quickly.

Take 2 pieces of tape, 4 inches wide.

Place them back to back letting the edges overlap ~1/2 inch.

Fold the tape back over on itself so that the ends meet.

One of the exposed sticky overlapping edges will stick to the top side of the tape, leaving only the 2nd exposed sticky overlapping edge.

This edge will adhere to the wreath form.

Repeat this process with all of the tape colors you will use on the wreath making as many as you need of each.

For my wreath, I used 22 ruffles of pink, red, and silver, 11 of white, and 11 of the heart tape.

Next we need a wreath form.

I used old foam board that had seem better days.

You can also use scrap cardboard.

Either way, you won’t be spending much if anything on this DIY wreath form!

Cut a circle out of your material. Mine is approximately 18″ in diameter.

A box cutter or X-acto knife will cut through foam board very well.

Cut the interior circle out.

Begin taping on the ruffles allowing them to overlap.

It is easiest to start from the inside and work your way out.

Continue layering until you have filled the wreath form.

You can’t even tell its tape!
