Pokémon Card Birthday Invitation

September 12, 2016 By Michele McDonald 2 Comments

These Pokémon Card Birthday Invitations are perfect for any Pikachu fan!

You can find these invitations in my Etsy shop!

These Pokémon Card Birthday Invitations are perfect for any Pikachu fan!I have two little boys who are over the moon for all things Pokémon! It was pretty much a no brainer that the next one to have a birthday was going to have a Pokémon theme and, doing what I do, I designed him an invitation to go with the party theme. In this case, his very own Pokémon trading card invitation!

These Pokémon Card Birthday Invitations are perfect for any Pikachu fan!My oldest was turning eight and really wanted his own Pokémon trainer card. I used a card he had as a template and copied it as best I could. I think it came out pretty great! This is our first birthday invitation to include a photo. and he wanted to be sure he was holding a Pokéball and his favorite character was included in the photo. A little “photoshopping” helped out there.

These Pokémon Card Birthday Invitations are perfect for any Pikachu fan!I wanted these to look like actual trading cards so they needed a front and a back. So they print with the front and back of the card right next to each other on a sheet of cardstock. Then I just had to trim down the card itself.

I used a paper scorer to be sure I got a perfect line. After scoring the paper, fold in half and smooth the edge down.

Use adhesive along the inside edges of the card then press together firmly.

Finally, use a corner punch on all 4 corners of the card.
Tip: Keep the corner punch on your table top while punch through the cards. If it starts to be difficult to punch through try punching through aluminum foil. It will sharpen the punch.

The most important thing is that my birthday boy was positively THRILLED with his Pokémon birthday invitations! Even little brother was super excited to have his own Gavachu cards.

We had our Pokémon birthday party this past weekend so I can’t wait to share it with you on Wednesday!

And, as always, these invitations have been added to my Etsy shop for all the other little Pokémon fans.
